Without a doubt, 2017 was Shopware’s most successful year to date, resulting in a growth rate which was even recognised by Deloitte with a Technology Fast 500 Award. It should come as no surprise that this was also reflected in the UK market, where the number of Shopware partners and projects grew exponentially within the past year alone.

Learn more about Shopware’s growth since entering the UK market one year ago, and what can be expected in the year to come, in the following interview with Deepak Anand, General Manager UK.


 

Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for joining us and welcome to the Shopware Labs. Today we’re looking back on a very successful 2017 and looking forward to an even more successful 2018.

Deepak Anand, General Manager UK of Shopware, thank you very much for joining and thank you for taking the time and answering a couple of questions today. As you remember, last year we had a similar interview, where you announced that Shopware had entered the UK market. What has happened since then?

In 2017, we have seen a growth of over 500% in the UK and Irish market and we’ve built relationships with a number of strategic partners and also with clients. And the one thing which really worked for us is the product differentiations, because with our product you have access to the full source code. We are an open source technology and our values are: Open, Authentic, Visionary. So, we believe in that and we live with these values every single day.

That sounds great! What are your concrete plans for 2018 in terms of events, marketing and people business in the UK?

One of the core strategies for the UK is working directly with the client and giving support to the partners wherever it’s needed. The second is working with our strategic technology partners to make sure that they support the growth of Shopware in the UK market and other international markets.

And we are making a lot of investments in terms of building up brand awareness. We’re doing the Retail Business Technology Expo and you can also meet us at the eCommerce Expo. We are running a number of webinars throughout the year and we are really looking forward to 2018 and I know that this is going to be an amazing year for us.

Sounds very exciting, and I think that we are all looking forward to 2018.
